Hello friends!! Throughout 2020, I’ve started a number of projects, but haven’t completed nearly as many as I’ve begun! But this year, I’ve decided to work on my PHD! No, not in nursing-I’m retired!! I’ll be joining Quilting Gail and others to earn my PHD and complete my “Projects Half Done!” The idea is to list 12 UFO’s and work on getting those finished. So while I have many that await completion, I’ve chosen 12 with which to start. There are more on my list, and if I get to them that’s great. If not, they will wait a little longer! We are also to finish what we start in 2021! That’s a tall order, but I will work on that as well!
These are the projects I’ve chosen to work on. I will provide pictures of those I have remembered to take! LOL
Project #1: Complete blocks 5-12 and the center block of Sunshine Cove, make the sashing and stitch it together. Here is a photo of the first four blocks and what the finished quilt might look like! Months 11 and 12, and the center are recently released but this picture is from the website and hasn’t been updated.
Project #2: The Purple Pillow! I actually started this project in a class at the local Pfaff/Baby Lock dealer a couple of years ago and it really needs to be finished!
Project #3: Make guild comfort quilt from blocks won last year (or maybe year before!) in the block of the month giveaway.
Project #4: Finish piecing my 2020 guild panel challenge quilt. I got about half-way finished with it and Covid hit and I just lost my mojo for it. It’s still on my design wall!
Project #5: Secret sewing for Karen, The Quilt Rambler! I can’t show you a picture of my project, but her first signature collection called Vincent’s Garden by Kathy Engel of Island Batiks. I added three IB blenders for my project! I love the bright colors!!
Project #6: Decide on a final design and finish the Alabama panel I purchased last year from Stitchin’ Heaven. They had a buy one get one and I got two!! I’ll save the second one for later! Sorry, no pic!
Project #7: Finish the bowl cozies!! No pic of these either.
Project #8: In December I joined up with Patterns by Jen for their 2021 monthly color challenge. This began on 1/1/21. My posts will be later in the year, but I will make each block and complete the quilt from the fabrics I purchased last month. Here are my fabrics! I love Grunge!!
Project #9: Quilt and Bind my Happy Fall Y’all mini quilt designed for the Hello Fall blog hop last year. I used the tiny twister tool for the center! The post is here. It will be gifted to my guild for our silent auction fundraiser in 2022 at our biennial QuiltFest. The last couple of QuiltFests the proceeds have been donated to Meals on Wheels.
Project #10: Quilt my Cabin Star flimsy from “My Favorite Block Blog Hop.” Post here.
Project #11: Finish the set of Calendar Quilts I started, oh, two or three years ago??! Some are complete, but I still need to quilt a few and bind them, and just bind some! They are my version of the quilts from Kim Schaefer’s book.
Project #12: Bind my king size row by row quilt from 2018!! That’s all it needs and I just need to get it done! Sorry, no pic yet!
Project #13: Work on, and maybe finish the Harmony BOM I’ve collected throughout 2020. Here is a photo. I hope mine looks half that good! They said there were no Y-seams, but we’ll see!!
Project #14: Quilt Garden Friends flimsy from It’s a Garden Party Row Along last year! I love this little quilt and it will also be gifted to my guild for the silent auction in 2022 when we have our next QuiltFest. It was supposed to be in 2020, but Covid!
So here is my task list for 2021. Thank you Sharon of Ms. P Designs for creating this cool spread sheet! She graciously shared a link to download it from her post.
And here is my UFO List on the spreadsheet that can be download from Quilting Gail!
You’re probably not as behind as me, but if you’d like to work on your PHD this year, you can visit Quilting Gail for more information! Thanks for stopping by and helping me hold myself to task!!
Until next time … Stay Safe and Be Blessed!
